STARS DRIVING SCHOOL – TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Definitions

1.1 “We”, “Us”, “Our” refers to Stars Driving School Bolton, a non-profit collective.
1.2 “Instructor” denotes a self-employed DVSA-approved professional operating through our platform.
1.3 “You”, “Client” refers to the individual receiving driving instruction.

2. Booking & Financial Terms

2.1 Fees

• Standard tuition: From £35 per hour (minimum 1-hour session)

• Test day package (1hr pre-test lesson + vehicle use): subject to Instructor’s readiness assessment

2.2 Payment

• Due in full prior to lesson commencement via bank transfer/cash

• Test packages require 50% non-refundable deposit

2.3 Price Revisions

• Rates may be adjusted with 30 days’ written notice

3. Cancellation Policy

3.1 By Client

• 24 hours notice: No penalty

• less than 24 hours notice: 100% of lesson fee payable

3.2 By Instructor

• Notice provided at earliest opportunity

• Alternative Instructor offered where feasible

4. Lesson Conduct

4.1 Requirements

• Valid UK provisional driving licence

• Medical fitness to drive (including sobriety)

4.2 Unacceptable Conduct

• Aggressive/violent behaviour terminates contract immediately without refund

5. Practical Test Provisions

5.1 Eligibility Assessment

• Instructor discretion determines test readiness

• Vehicle provision subject to availability

6. INSTRUCTOR INDEPENDENCE & MANAGEMENT DISCLAIMER

Stars Driving School Bolton operates as a non-profit collective that connects independent driving instructors with learners. Accordingly:

6.1 Independent Practitioners
All instructors within our network are self-employed professionals responsible for their own:

• Teaching standards & DVSA compliance

• Vehicle maintenance & insurance

• Lesson scheduling & client agreements

6.2 Limited Liability
Stars Driving School:

• Acts solely as a referral platform

• Does not oversee or guarantee individual instructor conduct

• Bears no responsibility for disputes, accidents, or service issues arising between instructors and learners

6.3 Member Collective
As a non-profit entity, we exist to:

• Facilitate business opportunities for members

• Promote shared advertising and resources

• Maintain no employer-employee relationships

Learners contract directly with instructors, not Stars Driving School.

7. Liability Framework

7.1 Insurance Coverage

• Instructors maintain individual business insurance

• Clients liable for traffic violations during lessons

7.2 Property

• No responsibility for lost/damaged personal effects

8. Dispute Resolution

8.1 Complaints Process

• Formal submissions via email to info@starsdrivingschool.co.uk within 14 days of incident

• Mediation conducted per UK Alternative Dispute Resolution regulations

9. General Provisions

9.1 Governing Law

• These terms shall be construed under the laws of England and Wales

9.2 Amendments

• Revised terms published on www.starsdrivingschool.co.uk with 30 days’ notice

9.3 Severability

• If any provision is held invalid, remaining terms remain enforceable

10. DATA PROTECTION

10.1 Compliance
We adhere to:

• UK GDPR (Data Protection Act 2018)

• PCI-DSS for payment processing
